Overnighter in Snowdonia

There’s now less than six weeks to the 2021 Pan Celtic Race.

Starting in Plymouth, riders will travel 2,000km around England’s south coast and into Wales, before finishing in Llandudno – at race director Matt Ryan’s house.

It’s personal to the Pan Celtic team, which rubs off on anyone who encounters them and gives those who sign up to take part in the race a real feeling of being part of something.

Now able to travel again, we headed to Llandudno for a weekend of riding in Snowdonia with Matt and Toby of the PCR team, to test kit and get some training miles in ahead of the race.

Mountain roads, grey skies and heavy rain were all predictable.

Sleeping in a local friend’s garage to avoid a flooded bivy spot, less so… but the warmth and generosity of everyone associated with this race should never be underestimated.
