12 Hours of May is a cycling challenge that celebrates longer days, the hope of springtime and exploration closer to home. It's open to anyone willing to spend 12 hours outdoors in one go on a bike.

This challenge is to spend 12 hours outside, elapsed time, not riding time, in one go. So you could stay in the saddle for 12 hours straight, or for a few hours before finding a place to sleep and pedalling home in the morning. There are some big prizes on offer from Albion, Outdoor Provisions and QUOC.

Three steps:

  1. Sign up below to register to take part (and be eligible for your patch).

  2. Spend 12 hours outside in one go this month (elapsed time, not moving).

  3. At the end of the month, you'll be sent a link to enter your ride and redeem your patch.

All entries will receive a 12 Hours of May repair patch, and will be entered into a draw to win the two main prizes.

Terms & Conditions
  • You can record your ride using any platform (Strava, Komoot, RidewithGPS). You will be asked to enter the link to your ride at the end of the month.
  • You must subscribe to marketing to be entered into the prize draw and claim a 12 Hours of May repair patch.

The weather is getting warmer. The days are getting longer. Ride on or off road. The only rule is that the elapsed time from the moment you start pedalling until you're done with your ride must be at least 12 hours. Nothing else matters.

Prizes:

Two people who complete 12 Hours of May will be chosen at random to win the following prizes:

Prize 2:

£250 Albion voucher, a pair of QUOC Lala Slides and enough Outdoor Provisions energy snacks to go to the moon.
