What is the Silk Road Mountain Race?
Starting in Osh, the second city of Kyrgyzstan, and finishing in Karakol, the Silk Road Mountain Race covers 1,900 kilometres of the most beautiful and wild landscape that the country has to offer.
Revered by cyclists globally, the seventh edition is about exploration. Riders will experience 729 kilometres that have never featured in the race before including a 30km hike, along with some of the best sections from past editions.
For many, it's more than a race. The Silk Road Mountain Race connects some of the farthest corners of the country, climbing at altitude, balancing the threat of shifting weather and experiencing the warmth of the people and the endless beauty this route offers.
